Great park. At the visitor center there is a self guided tour so you can explore the historic parts of the park. There are lots of trails, 2 lakes to swim in, camping and picnicking areas. If you can make the hike, the view up on top pole steeple rock outcropping is beautiful.
A good morning hike up to Pole Steeple Vista from the park office is around 7-8 miles but worth the effort because of the view at the top of Laurel Lake. Friendly Park guides can suggest a shorter hike also. Many elementary School children were able to make the climb & loved the view.
A lot to offer here. Hiking, biking, camping, swimming and the list goes on. Some facilities have been upgraded over the years. The play are for the children is new and very nice. The swim area is also very nice.
Great place to either Hike, Swim, Kayak or settle on the beach. Hike here quite often & it's part of the Appalachian trail. If you're lucky you'll see momma bear & her cubs
One of my favorite State Parks in Pennsylvania. Plenty of parking near the furnace. Hiking trails, cycling trails, camping, swimming, picnicking pavilions, and museums (Appalachian Trail Museum) are all located within the park. There are plenty of pavilions. The rest room facilities are new and very clean.
